Another local resident, Seņor
Fresno (right), is an accomplished water-colourist and offers lessons and
workshops to help you take advantage of the stunning views and
unmistakable light of this part of Andalucia.
As can be seen in his work entitled 'Casa Vino' (below), his work is very stylised but impressively
understated. His use of textures and shadows are reminiscent of
many 19th Century Spanish painters.
Not afraid of strong colours, or of
wearing sandals with grey socks, Seņor
Fresno is bold with his strokes and captures the vivacity of the rich
lights and character of Andalucia.
Uniquely, his inspired use of brushes made from his own hair gives the paintings a
natural feel.
He has recently taken up photography to supplement his meagre
income. His home-made camera, coupled with his talent for
capturing the moment, has produced some memorable shots. |

He can
often be seen walking the region. Instantly recognisable in
his trademark sandals, socks and knitted shorts, he is always in
search of the perfect photograph.
With a lens made from one of his old spectacles, and a case
fashioned from hemp and re-cycled cardboard, he has perfected a
number of techniques not easily reproduced using modern digital
cameras and other such technology.
Some of his recent work has been converted into PC
wallpaper for you to download. |
